Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between CREW Network and CREW East Bay membership?

CREW East Bay is an affiliate organization of CREW Network. Therefore, a member of CREW East Bay is also a member of CREW Network. This global Network is comprised of over 75 affiliate organizations with a total membership of 12,000 CRE professionals; CREW East Bay is our local “chapter.”

While the overall purpose and goals of CREW East Bay reflect those of CREW Network, CREW East Bay has its own unique structure allowing it to meet the needs of the East Bay membership. CREW East Bay uses CREW Network’s standard qualified fields of commercial real estate (QFCRE) to guide its membership criteria and experience prerequisite, and determines its own dues, programs and member activities.

How often do you meet? What is the time commitment for membership?

CREW East Bay typically holds a luncheon or tour approximately twice each quarter, and these events are open to the public. In addition, we host a number of events exclusively open to members, including leadership events, networking and cocktail events, educational lunch and learn events, Dine-Arounds, members-only tours, and other special events.
We encourage members to get involved on a committee to help maximize their membership experience. Committee participation can vary, but each committee normally has a one-hour meeting or conference call once a month.

What are the membership requirements?

CREW East Bay welcomes all industry leaders who meet the experience and specialty requirements:

  • Experience — Applicant must have at least five years of experience in the commercial real estate industry to be a general member, and two years of experience to be an associate member.
  • Employment – Applicant must be currently employed in a full-time professional position in one or more of the qualified fields of commercial real estate (QFCRE).
  • Applicants in other membership categories, such as Civic, Affiliate or Student are also considered.  Check our qualifications for full details.

What is the application process?

If you are interested in joining CREW East Bay, you can download an application from our website or apply online.

Email your completed application, along with credit card payment information, to CREWeastbayoffice@gmail.com. If submitting a check, mail the application and check to CREW Network, 1201 Wakarusa Dr Ste D, Lawrence, KS 66049.

The CREW East Bay Board of Directors will review all applications at their monthly meeting and approve those applicants who qualify for membership.

How much does membership cost?

All applicants pay a one-time, non-refundable $25 application fee.

Annual membership dues for General, Associate or Affiliate Members are $375. Other membership categories pay lower rates (see more).

Applicants joining after June 30 pay a discounted dues rate for the balance of the year, since all memberships expire on December 31.

Is my membership transferrable?

No. Memberships are based on an individual's qualifications and years of experience, therefore memberships are not transferrable to other people (even within the same company).
