CREW East Bay Luncheon –
Benefits and Challenges of Forming a Qualified Opportunity Fund
Tax reform legislation enacted last year created significant new tax benefits for investors in qualified opportunity funds (QOFs). The purpose of the law is to spur economic development and job creation in distressed communities. A QOF is an investment vehicle that invests in real estate or other businesses located in certain census tracts that have been designated as qualified opportunity zones (QOZs). Learn about the benefits of investing in a qualified opportunity fund and hear from real estate developers about the challenges of setting up a fund.
