Katie Bowman

Katie Bowman is the Economic Development Manager with the City of San Leandro, where she has worked since 2015.  In this position, she manages business attraction and retention programs, facilitates strategic development projects, and serves as a liaison between businesses and the City.  In this role, she enjoys working with a variety of stakeholders – from residents, to small businesses, to national developers – to help make San Leandro a great place. Prior to San Leandro, Katie worked in economic development and planning in the Chicago area, where she facilitated development, developed policy and worked with tax increment financing districts. Katie has a Master’s in Urban Planning & Policy from the University of Illinois at Chicago, is a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP), and is an active member in a variety of regional organizations including the East Bay Economic Development Alliance.
